Forum on Vocational Excellence 2023: Providing today’s talent with the skills to build a great tomorrow
In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is imperative for education and training providers, employers, and governments to collaborate in ensuring that our workforce possesses the skills necessary to meet society’s ever-changing demands. This requires regular revision of curricula, incorporating new skills such as digital and green skills, and emphasising the importance of social and professional skills to navigate complex societal challenges. Additionally, applied research and innovation in VET play a crucial role in sharing the latest developments with small and medium enterprises (SMEs), providing proof of concepts, and driving the green and digital transition in our societies.
Although this presents a significant challenge, there are numerous inspiring examples of successful collaboration between VET providers, the labor market, and governments through Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs). These collaborations co-create solutions that align with society’s needs, offering high-quality education and training while providing additional services such as applied research, innovation of professions, and context-rich learning environments.
The Forum on Vocational Excellence (read our article here) serves as a platform to showcase these inspiring examples and bring together individuals involved in these initiatives. It creates a space for knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and best practices, ensuring that valuable insights are shared among participants and avoiding unnecessary duplication of efforts.
Save the date for September 25th and 26th, when the vibrant city of Amsterdam will host this transformative event. As part of the Forum, MOSAIC will moderate a workshop focused on conducting research within large partnerships and engaging partners of varying experience levels in this field.
We’ll come together to build a world where our workforce is equipped with the right skills to thrive.
