Sectors of excellence in the region
Trentino-Alto Adige’s economy is based on a combination of primary production, industry and tourism. The region’s advantageous geographical location facilitates trade with Austria and Germany via the Brenner motorway.
The graphic sector in Trentino has experienced significant economic development, driven by a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern digital innovation. The region’s industrial base includes small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in textiles, mechanics, wood, and paper production, with notable clusters in Valsugana, Vallagarina, and the Adige Valley. This industrial diversity provides a solid foundation for the graphic sector, encompassing printing, binding, and design services.
In the digital realm, Trentino boasts a vibrant web design industry, with over 50 companies in Trento alone. These firms offer a range of services, including website development, digital marketing, and graphic design, catering to both local businesses and international clients. The presence of research institutions like the University of Trento and the Bruno Kessler Foundation fosters a culture of innovation, supporting the growth of digital design and marketing sectors.
Initiatives such as “Design for Growth“, organized by the University of Trento, highlight the region’s commitment to integrating design thinking into public policy and business strategies, further enhancing the sector’s development. Application requirements
Students who wish to participate in the long-term blended mobility programmes under the MOSAIC project must be over 18 years old and apply through open calls of their schools. These calls will clearly state the number of available places and the evaluation criteria. Each participating school is responsible for carrying out the selection autonomously, based on its internal procedures. Priority may be given to students who demonstrate motivation, readiness to engage in intercultural learning, and alignment with the learning objectives of the specific study programme. This type of mobility has a stronger component of work based learning.
Applicants have knowledge of the English language.
Participants must undergo safety course to be able to operate in total safety and protection of their own and others’ health within a business setting.
Trento, Italy
Visiting Trento is not only an opportunity to discover a region rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage, but also a source of inspiration and creativity, as demonstrated by the experiential program offered to students as part of the mobility initiative. The aim is to engage participants in a journey that combines design, culture, craftsmanship, and local exploration.
During the project, students will have the chance to learn and experiment with creative techniques in the workshops of Artigianelli of Trento—such as screen printing, textile printing, and the use of plotters and digital printers—drawing inspiration from the unique environment in which the school is located.
Trento is the ideal place for an educational and creative experience that blends art, nature, history, and innovation. The city thus becomes an open-air learning space, capable of inspiring young people and opening them up to new perspectives.
