What a year 2023 was for MOSAIC!

All partners were actively involved in the research conducted to understand the skills needs of the Arts & Crafts sector,  and how sustainability, digitalisation, social inclusion and new business models to support young entrepreneurs can be further explored by Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses in fields such as Furniture making, Jewellery making, and Design, Arts and Industry.

During 2023, MOSAIC partners also participated in several online meetings to discuss the progress of the project in all its Work Packages (WP), and gathered in person in Sofia (BG) for MOSAIC WP Leaders meeting, and in Bologna (IT) for a Transnational Partners’ Meeting and for the Design Thinking Seminar, which results were the baseline for the creation of the future European Observatory of Arts & Crafts!

2024 will be a promising year, full of activities: research will continue being conducted to keep data on the several topics addressed by MOSAIC duly updated, and the Training modules (currently under development, aligned with EQF levels 4, 5 and 6) will be finalised, piloted and fined tuned. These modules will address:

  • Entrepreneurship education, focusing on marketing, digital communication and social business models (aimed at students);
  • Digitalisation and Social inclusion (aimed at teachers).

WP5 of MOSAIC will kick-start in 2024, under the topic “Internationalisation and Transnational Mobility”, and for this Work Package all partners will be reaching out to their local networks of stakeholders to collect best practices and materials used in international learning mobilities, which will be relevant when starting to develop the training course on Internationalisation for teachers.

In September, partners, students and teachers will be gathering in Lyon for a very intense week (9th to 13th), where MOSAIC International Skills Performance will be carried out, in parallel with the WorldSkills Competition. This will also be an opportunity for partners to meet for the project’s Transnational Partners’ Meeting, in which the development of the European Observatory of Arts & Crafts will be one of the main topics.

Also, the first annual national Dissemination Events will be carried out in 2024 by all partners, in their respective countries (Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, France and Italy), to present the project’s achievements and how its results can be used to foster Vocational Excellence and the growth of the Arts & Crafts sector, also involving MOSAIC Associated Partners Fondazione Golinelli, Institut National Métiers d’Art, the World Crafts Council Europe and WorldSkills France.

These are some of the activities that are waiting for MOSAIC partners and all stakeholders interested in participating, in 2024.

We can’t wait to start!
