Sectors of excellence in the region
The hosting company has been a trusted partner of our VET center in FERMO for over ten years and is a key player in the Italian footwear industry.
It is based in the province of Fermo which, together with the neighboring province of Macerata, forms the most important shoemaking district in Italy.
Today, the company employs over 2,000 people and produces around 18,000 pairs of shoes per day, focusing on both domestic and international growth by leveraging its Made-in-Italy production.
It stands out for its Italian design, high quality, and distinctive style, combining artisanal tradition with advanced industrial processes and technological innovation.
The collaboration between our VET center and the company is particularly strong. It initially led to the establishment of the Shoemaking Operator Course and has since contributed to the development of an innovative shoemaking school aimed at training qualified professionals for the footwear sector.

Application requirements
Students who wish to participate in the long-term blended mobility programmes under the MOSAIC project must be over 18 years old and apply through open calls of their schools. These calls will clearly state the number of available places and the evaluation criteria. Each participating school is responsible for carrying out the selection autonomously, based on its internal procedures. Priority may be given to students who demonstrate motivation, readiness to engage in intercultural learning, and alignment with the learning objectives of the specific study programme. This type of mobility has a stronger component of work based learning.
Applicants have knowledge of the English language.
Applicants should be motivated and interested in the sector.
Fermo, Italy
Fermo is an historic town steeped in the charm of a distant and fascinating past. Perched on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside and the Adriatic Sea, it is located in the Marche region, in the centre of Italy.
Fermo’s origins date back to the time of the Picentes, and its history continues through the Roman era, the many events of the Middle Ages, and into modern times. Evidence of this rich and varied past can be found throughout the city: monuments, churches filled with precious works and relics, towers and museums that welcome visitors all year round.
The town boasts two natural scenic backdrops: on one side, the Adriatic Sea, just eight kilometres from the city centre, and on the other, the inland landscape, dotted with historical villages nestled among rolling hills that lead up to the slopes of the Sibillini Mountains.
Thanks to the area’s distinctive fashion production system, based on small and medium-sized enterprises, tourists can enjoy shopping at factory outlets of top international designers and discover local excellence in arts and crafts.
