MOSAIC at the 2022 Forum on Vocational Excellence in San Sebastian, Basque Country, Spain

On 15th and 16th November the 2022 Forum on Vocational Excellence took place in San Sebastian, Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, Spain. 

The event was jointly organised by the European Commission and the Government of the Basque Country with the support of the European Training Foundation (ETF), Cedefop and EACEA, as well as the Community of Practice on CoVEs, and Katapult, The gathering showcased the European initiative on Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE), uniting over 300 participants from diverse fields of expertise. It included the participation of the partners of ongoing CoVE projects, as well as other Vocational Excellence initiatives being developed in Europe and beyond, that form part of wider partnerships and networks in Vocational Education and Training (VET). 

The forum was a fantastic opportunity for MOSAIC to highlight its dedication to Arts and Crafts in vocational education. The MOSAIC stand attracted a steady stream of curious visitors, keen to gain deeper insights into the project’s objectives and vision. 

The forum served as a hub for meaningful networking and knowledge sharing. With various ongoing CoVE initiatives coming together, the event fostered a vibrant exchange of best practices, experiences, and insights. The opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and institutions sparked collaborations that hold the promise of advancing vocational education to new heights. MOSAIC also connected with other ongoing CoVEs, setting the groundwork for future collaborations. 

A highlight worth mentioning was the participation of SEPR VET Center, represented by Claire Challande-Osuna, Head of the International Department, in a roundtable discussion focused on ERASMUS+ Calls for COVEs, and Matchmaking. This roundtable aimed to share essential knowledge and practices related to CoVE application preparation and the inclusion of partners from both EU and non-EU countries. 

In summary, the forum proved to be an invaluable experience for MOSAIC.  The meaningful connections established and the insightful knowledge exchanged throughout the 2022 Forum on Vocational Excellence are set to play an important role in guiding MOSAIC towards achieving excellence and fostering innovation in vocational education.
